In this article, we’ll explore how to start and grow a successful copywriting career.
As a marketer in progress I got an idea to make an article for the three things I’ve learned from the Copywriting module from AI+Marketing Bootcamp at Creative Hub Miami Academy which widens my view of writing in general but also in the copywriting industry.
Copywriting is not easy. Yet we have to master it if we want to be great (and not good) marketers. Additionally, understanding SEO is crucial for enhancing our marketing strategies and growing a copywriting career.
What is Copywriting?
That’s an easy question, but hard to find a short answer. My perspective goes the same as my lecturer told me that the art named copywriting is more than just writing—it’s about connecting with people, sparking emotions, and driving action. Whether you’re crafting a social media post, a sales email, or a website headline, the goal is the same: to persuade your audience to take the next step. This is essential knowledge for anyone pursuing a copywriting career.
Here are the 3 things that I’ve learned from the Creative Hub Miami Bootcamp class on Copywriting.
Rule no.1:
Get to know your audience. Invest money in meeting your audience
The first assignment that I got was to write an interview questions. Knowing the benefit of testimonials for any business or service, a copywriter definitely should know how to write questions.
So my task was to meet the person who I’m interviewing.
I spent 30 minutes talking with my peer and learning about her motivations, experiences, desires, who she’s influenced by and how she feels using the program.
In those 30 minutes I also learnt how I can improve the program and make my “future user” sign up faster. SEO plays a key role in driving users to the program.
Rule no.2:
Learn On-page SEO
Without knowing the basics, the plugins ( we were using the free version of Yoast SEO) I wouldn’t probably have my interview ranked well on Google, which is essential for a copywriting career.
Learning SEO might be hard, but learning on-page SEO is equal to learning the rules of how the algorithm is ranking content.
It is easy and when you use a plugin, the plugin does 99% of the work.
I also learnt how to combine Deepseek and Yoast when I was not feeling like writing a meta description.
Rule No.3
Use your content in different channels
Content creators often think that you need to invest so much money to create a separate content for every channel. But what If I told you that you can re-use your content in different channels.
Next time when you write an interview, try to make a newsletter out of it, and then open Canva ( it’s free ) and make an IG carousel ( which you can also reuse for LinkedIn). SEO can help in making this content reach a broader audience and benefit your copywriting career.
You don’t need a lot of content, you need the right content. Incorporating SEO can help you reach a wider audience with the content you already have, aiding your copywriting career.
For more advice follow my free educational channel, and for more in-depth learning I strongly recommend the AI + Marketing Bootcamp at Creative Hub Miami.
