St. Thomas University Joins the Venture Miami Scholarship Fund to Close STEM Gaps in Miami

The City of Miami’s Department of Economic Innovation and Development, in partnership with The Miami Foundation, is on a mission to close the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) gaps in the region. As part of this initiative, St. Thomas University (STU) has become a key participant in the Venture Miami Scholarship Fund, joining Florida International University (FIU), Florida Memorial University, Miami-Dade College, and the University of Miami.

• Be a City of Miami resident at the time of application.
• Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Be a high school senior or a recent graduate (within the last four years).
• Be a Pell Grant recipient (as determined by the Florida Student Aid FAFSA guidelines) OR have a household income less than 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for the City of Miami if attending Miami Dade College.
• Be accepted into a bachelor’s or associate degree program in a defined STEM field or a high-wage/demand occupation (e.g., nursing).
